Dr Francesca La Morgia is Assistant Professor in Clinical Speech and Language Studies at Trinity College Dublin, where she is also the Director of the Masters programme. Before joining Trinity College, she lectured in Dublin City University, University College Dublin and the University of Reading. In 2017, Francesca founded Mother Tongues with the aim of providing advice and support for parents who are raising multilingual children. Francesca’s research focuses on the role of environmental factors in the linguistic development of bilingual children and the investigation of variables that can predict outcomes in the development of the heritage language. Her latest project examines the acquisition of postverbal subjects in bilingual Italian-English children.
